6 week course
1 evening per week for 2+ hours
Cost is $380.00 and includes all materials, glazes and
firings.
This course teaches techniques of slab building and
trhowing on the potters wheel. It also provides stsudents
with the opportunity to partake ina Raku firing. Raku
is a form of Japanese pottery characterized by low firing
temperatures (resulting in a fairly porous body), lead
glazes, and the removal of pieces from the kiln while
still glowing hot. In the traditional Japanese firing
process, the pot is removed from the hot kiln and put
directly into water or allowed to cool in the open air.
Raku techniques have been adopted and modified by contemporary
potters worldwide.
Classes are designed from beginners but we facilitate
for all levels of experience. All are welcome.
Classes start January, Marck, June, and September. Times
are flexible so contact us for scheduling. Don't miss
a chance for one on one instruction with our master
potters Debbie Entwistle and
Liz Crowley.
